2009 was an excellent year for our Kansas City Auburn Club. The 2009 football season was kicked off with the 1st Annual “SEC Bash” held at Shawnee Mission Park on Saturday August 22, 2009. Our Kansas City Auburn Club was the first sponsor of this event and I must say it was a good success. We had over 80 SEC supporters attend and representatives from the universities of Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, and Vanderbilt. LSU came in first in the sporting contest and display competition. As a reward in addition to winning the traveling trophy, LSU will be the sponsor of next years event. Auburn and Florida tied for second. This year the event should be even better.

We had an excellent community project for 2009 as our club raised $546.00 for St Jude Children Hospital in concert with The Fox & Hound and topped the Alabama and Florida Clubs in this competitive fund raiser.
Our Number One achievement for 2009 was funding our first Kansas City Auburn $1,000.00 Scholarship, available in 2010 to a deserving area Auburn student.
This February 2010 our Kansas City Auburn Club was recognized by the Auburn Alumni Association as one of the top clubs in the country receiving the War Eagle Certificate and Scott Ellis was First Runner Up for the Media and Communications Award.
Our 1st Annual Banquet featuring quest speaker Coach Wayne Bolt, Director of Operations, Football, is set for Wednesday evening May 19th at Florella’s Jack Stack, Freight House in Downtown Kansas City, MO. Come join us!
Our calendar of events is posted and updated on this web site to keep all informed on planned activities. The Fox & Hound on Metcalf Ave in Overland Park, Kansas will be our regular 2010 football game watch location. If a watch party is scheduled in an Auburn Club member’s home, the Fox & Hound will still be available for those who prefer a public location.
We want to share and build that Auburn Spirit right here in Kansas City. We now have over 330 Auburn Alumni in our area. We had a 151% increase to Events and Game Watch Parties in 2009. Our goal for 2010 is to attract even more active participants in our group activities.
If you are an Active Member of the Auburn Alumni Association, you are an automatic member of the Kansas City Auburn Club. It is only a $45.00 annual fee to be an Active Member of the Auburn Alumni Association.
